AZ’s The Venomous Pinks Debut the Documentary ‘We Must Prevail: The Making of Vita Mors’

Arizona femme punks The Venomous Pinks are debuting the new documentary, We Must Prevail: The Making of Vita Mors, which chronicles the creation of their latest album Vita Mors, out now on SBÄM Records.

The film was directed and edited by Alexander Thomas and filmed in Santa Ana, CA, at Maple Sounds Studios, with cameos by Brenna Red (The Last Gang), Linh Le (Bad Cop/Bad Cop), Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Motorhead), Dan Palmer (Death By Stereo, Zebrahead), and Stefan Beham (SBÄM Records).

The Pinks had a busy 2023, touring relentlessly with the likes of T.S.O.L., Dead Kennedys, The Queers, Less Than Jake, The Toasters, and appearing on festival stages at Punk Rock Bowling and more. 2024 promises more of the same, as the band has already announced its first shows of the year, including an appearance at Camp Punksylvania in July.

“[The Venomous Pinks] might singlehandedly make you believe in the power of feminism, whoa-oh gang vocals, and punk pride to change the world. The songs can wax as melodic as the GoGo’s or roar as persuasively polemical as Bad Religion.”- Offshelf

Upcoming The Venomous Pinks Shows

  • 3/22 – Santa Ana, CA @ Observatory w/ Mac Sabbath, DI
  • 4/6 – Honolulu, HI @ Nextdoor
  • 4/7 – Paia, HI @ Paia Bay Coffee and Bar
  • July 5-7 @ Camp Punksylvania – Gilbert, PA

“Mesa, AZ’s own The Venomous Pinks have more than earned their place amid punk’s most weird and riotous acts. This bare-bones punk jam blends heft, heart, and pop-punk vibes into a bona fide earworm.”- Phoenix New Times

Vita Mors is out now via SBÄM Records

Vita Mors was recorded, engineered and produced by Grammy winner Cameron Webb, who also worked with iconic bands like Motorhead, Social Distortion, Pennywise, NOFX, Alkaline Trio and many more. The Venomous Pinks set out to be the next big thing on that list.

If members of Bikini Kill and TSOL musically collided in a Russ Myer movie, the soundtrack scoring the scene would be orchestrated by The Venomous Pinks.

Hailing from Mesa, Arizona the three-piece trio creates an unapologetically, uniquely addictive, in-your-face punk sound, that instantly makes the soul hurt so good, you can’t help but yearn for more.

Mac Sabbath Journeys Through Dystopian Fast-Food World in Innovative New Pop-Up Book

Mac Sabbath has revealed details on their first book, Drive Thru Metal, but don’t expect a stereotypical biography from the fast food-themed parody kings. There’s plenty of “juice” inside, albeit in the form of burgers cooking in the kitchen as the four members of Mac Sabbath take fans on a journey through a dystopian fast-food world polluted by its own waste in an innovative hybrid pop-up book.

Watch an amazing teaser video for the book here:

Mysterious Mac Sabbath frontman Ronald Osbourne comments on the book, “What’s that? A pop-up book is not what you were expecting? Well SUFFER! ….and you’re welcome.”

Drive thru Metal Mac Sabbath

Available via Poposition Press, Drive Thru Metal features illustrations by Gris Grimly, well-known for his darkly whimsical children’s books and the upcoming Netflix film adaptation of his Pinocchio book, and will be available in Regular and Special Editions. Both editions are available in limited quantities, so be sure to pre-order now to reserve a copy of this piece of Drive Thru Metal history! Pre-orders are available here.

Both editions of Drive Thru Metal include pop-up scenes highlighting “The Factory,” “The Ascension” and “Utopia” and include a special vinyl surprise with seven Mac Sabbath stories, including “Organic Funeral,” Sweet Beef” and “N.I.B.B.L.E.” The Special Edition is a super limited version complete with a foil stamped cover, a Gris Grimly art print and ketchup and mustard splattered vinyl surprise.

Mixing raucous comedy with borderline-horrific theatrics, the only thing more petrifying than impending health problems resulting from years of overeating is a Mac Sabbath show. Mac Sabbath puts on a theatrical, multimedia stage show – complete with a smoking grill, laser-eyed clowns, bouncing burgers and many more magical surprises… basically anything and everything an unwary show-goer could ever want in their wildest dreams. The band has been named by Buzzfeed as one of the “13 Metal Bands You Didn’t Know How to React To”, and as LA’s “Best Tribute Band” by LA Weekly.

MAC SABBATH Releases Meaty Marionette Music Video for “Sweet Beef”

Fast food-themed Black Sabbath parody kings Mac Sabbath are about to kick off another North American tour, beginning October 27 in Pomona, CA at Lagunitas Beer Circus! In celebration of the tour, the band have released their second recorded song, “Sweet Beef”, along with a brand new, zany music video for the track. The music video features maniacal marionettes in the image of the band members themselves!

The Laugh Button

This video is so psychedelic, it will leave you with the munchies! Deranged vocalist Ronald Osbourne says: “Mac Sabbath ‘meats’ marionettes! There will be blood!

The “Sweet Beef” video concept was created by Mac Sabbath, Michael Serwich and Matt Scott, with maroniettes managed by Matt Scott and Rasputin’s Marionettes and editing and effects by Joe Seafus.

The most impressive-and terrifying-thing about Mac Sabbath is that they’re actually really good. Ronald channels his inner Ozzy onstage, from the manic jumping to the frantic hand waving…” – Bryan Rolli, Paste Magazine

“… one of the most interesting bands to come around in a long, long time. They have Dead Kennedys’ outrageous sense of humor mixed with total irreverence and ornate style on top of a solid, engaging performance (even if the crowd is reluctant to respond). So while this whole thing was probably thought up after eating too many pot brownies, it is one of the most brilliant ideas in a long time.” – Troy Farah, Phoenix New Times

“This is not a drill. Be it exchanging Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” for a “Pair-a-buns” or “Iron Man” for a “Frying Pan,” these food-focused musical dweebs are cooking up something hot ‘n’ ready just for you.” – Alicia Lutes, MTV.com

“Even if the songs are dripping with onions and extra cheese, Mac Sabbath put on one righteous stage show, complete with smoke machines, gritty power chords, and endless head-banging.” – Chris Coplan, ConsequenceofSound.net
